Newegg, an online retailer based in California, expands its Bitcoin (BTC), payment options to accommodate customers from 73 additional countries.
A press release dated July 24 stated that Newegg customers can now buy products using Bitcoin (BTC), in over 80 countries around the world. Newegg is still unavailable to customers who reside in six countries, including Algeria, Ecuador and Egypt, Indonesia, Morocco, Morocco, Vietnam, and Morocco. However, the company stated on its website.
Newegg, which is backed by Chinese company Liaison Interactive collaborates with BitPay in order to become one of the largest online shopping sites that accept Bitcoin. Newegg first offered BTC payment options to residents of the United States. Later, the option was extended to Canadian citizens.
BitPay stopped settlements in Canadian dollars in 2017 after Newegg’s Canadian division dropped Bitcoin payments. BitPay was reportedly transparent and low-cost, and Newegg could increase its margin on every Bitcoin transaction by avoiding credit card fees that are typically charged on credit card purchases.
Newegg was established in 2001. It currently serves over 80 countries in Europe and Asia Pacific, Latin America and the Middle East. There are more than 38 million customers registered.
