Adidas Originals has announced the launch of its first non-fungible token (NFT), collection that will give it exclusive access to certain products. Adidas will sell the collection, entitled, on its official website on December 17th at 0.2 Ethereum, or $810 as of press time.
The digital assets are not yet fully understood by the sportswear company, but the giant revealed that they will function as access tokens. Holders will be able to access future merchandise and other digital and physical products and services. Token holders will also have access to rewards in The Sandbox’s new land plot.
Adidas Originals had announced earlier this month that it would be entering the metaverse. The iconic German apparel brand also stated that it has established partnerships with GMoney and Bored Ape Yacht Club. Adidas Originals stated that they believed that the metaverse encouraged people to be true and authentic to themselves.
NFT influencer GMoney spoke out about his expectations regarding Adidas’ entry into the NFT market.

Many established corporations are starting to notice the potential of the metaverse, and consequently Web 3 and NFTs. Celebrities and cultural influencers are also keen to join this growing trend.
