At 40 million, the number of Bitcoin (BTC), addresses that hold the cryptocurrency has reached a new record. This milestone was achieved regardless of any price declines since the beginning of the year.
A Twitter post from IntoTheBlock shows that 888,000 of the 40,000,000 BTC addresses were added to the network in the 2022 period.
Finbold has reported a recent increase in BTC accumulation. There is still a significant gap between whales holding 1,000 to 10,000 Bitcoin and holders who have less than one BTC.
Investor optimism for the future of crypto is evident by the steady increase in BTC accumulation over the past months. CoinMarketCap’s crypto community provides an 82% historical accuracy and predicts that the price of Bitcoin will reach $50K by March.
BTC currently trades at $38,797. This is a 0.013% decrease from last week’s $38,802. BTC’s market value is now $736.32 Billion, which is 0.002% less than the week before.
Many members of the community initially believed that Bitcoin would not react well to Russia’s invasion in Ukraine. The war has not had much impact on the crypto’s market dominance, however.
