Samsung Electronics, a Korean multinational electronics company, announced in a announcement its new smart TVs will offer NFT (non-fungible token support). The announcement states that the Neo QLED, MICRO and Frame models will allow users to trade and purchase NFTs.
NFT support was described in the announcement as an application that provides intuitive and integrated support for trading and finding NFTs. According to a recent press release cited by The Verge Samsung stated that the increase in NFT demand directs the need for a support landscape. The following describes the new offering:
“In 2022 Samsung will introduce the first TV-based NFT explorer/marketplace aggregator. This groundbreaking platform allows you to browse, buy, and display your favourite art all in one place.
Samsung claims that the platform will be beneficial for both potential buyers and creators, in addition to NFT support. For potential buyers, creators will be able “share their artwork with the world”. Each buyer can also view the NFT in its entirety before purchasing. Buyers will be able to access NFT history and specific blockchain metadata.
Smart calibration will be available in the Samsung app. This basically adjusts the TV’s display settings to show the NFT according to creator preferences. Creators can be sure that the NFT is being viewed by all potential buyers as it was intended.
